The crazy thing is that due to all the community work I do, I'm poorer then the average church mouse. I have a lot of great ideas, but I need help to implement them, and I'd also like to be able to pay my mortgage in the process.

The 'job' that would be good for me doesn't exist, so I need to find a way to create it. The good news is I've been filing Schedule C for my home based business since 1991, so I can use the existing business as a container for these efforts. Along the way, I may end up needing to create a 501(c)3 as well, but Linda at MUM is also willing to act as fiscal agent if it becomes appropriate to make things I do part of the Neighborhood Association or the Allied Community Co-op, or the Boys and Girls Club.

First and foremost at the moment I'm looking for funding for a USDA grant I wrote for a project that I call the "Allied Neighborhood Pride Project" which accomplishes a lot of good things for the Allied community in Madison. So far it's unfunded since it was declined by the USDA, and needs the private sector to step up to help make it happen.

The grant was written to help area residents take pride in the buildings they live in and around by enabling them to do some landscaping around their buildings as well as establish community, food pantry, and personal gardens in the area, including along the bike path that runs behind Allied Drive.

Also over the winter, as community gathering events, I've been talking with people, including Michael Johnson, about having contra dancing and drum circles at the Allied Boys and Girls Club / Family Center. But I can't afford to keep giving my time away doing good stuff. I need good people to sponsor me so I can afford to do it.

I'm going to add some links in the left column to other projects I'd love to be able to make happen, what I've done or wanted to do in the past, or that give some sense of what I'm all about. Much of what I've done doesn't have nice documentation to link to, which is kinda a shame. I'll add more as I find it.
